We had tryouts yesterday. Addie and Cat for Xtreme. I helped run tryouts with Maggie from 12:15-7:30. 11-12s first then 13-14s. It was a long day. Both my girls made the team. Praise Jesus! Cat hasn’t had great hitting. Nets taller too. She’s not jumping. She said afterward clearly upset. It’s fine I’ll be back row. Hard pass on setting. Her serving was awesome and she’s a great passer. Cat’s knee started hurting again when we all had to run for our lives in f-ing Chicago! She hasn’t been herself in many ways.
Addie made 11s team! I’m coaching. She and her little friends worked hard very sweaty. She tried her best sans any teenage attitude. We have six confirmed and one maybe. They look so good! I’m excited. The 14s have a new coach and poor guy stepped into major drama. 5 families threatened walkout if they had to play with two others who were not positive teammates. Bad attitudes need to be nipped in the bud. Addressed and mediated first then consequenced and ultimately let go if problem persists. It’s our job as parents and coaches. Unfortunately, the two were coach/club owners family. Maggie told me all season her attempts to resolve. It’s been heavy on her for some time now. How do you address conflict and keep the peace especially when no one acknowledges, let alone takes responsibility. I feel bad for everyone in that situation. We are just glad we are not sitting on sidelines a part of it anymore. On the contrary I feel very positive about next season 13s. We will be a better team! Minus towering height, we picked up players that will help where we lacked. We spoke with all girls individually. Told them it’s up to you to put in the time and work hard. I am already tired but I only have six more years with Cat! I need them to be great filled with happiness and hard work! 🙏🏼 Comments are closed.
