We ended 33 out of 64. We finished 5-4. The girls could of played so much better but did well considering and I am proud of them. Cat threw attitude and I even cried pleading for her to be better. She QS upset she wasn’t doing her best. We spent five days in boring Indy and then drove to Chicago.
My sisters family, my mom and my family rented an AirBB in Lincoln Park. An old brown stone near Dupal Univ. we tried to go to Whote Sox game but got rained out. We took an architecture boat tour, ate lunch at Signature room on 95th flood. We walked the entire Magnificent Mile to Millineum Park to see the bean. Ate at Giordos. Visited the Firld Museum, Shopped at Water Tower them Ubered to Navy Pier. We spent 3 hours with the rest of the 75k crowd to see fireworks. They were like all fireworks and waited 15mins decideimf what to do. The crowd just kept coming so we joined in and walked slowly to the exit. We bantered with each other. We were happy content then chaos erupted. Holy crap it was the craziest situation I’ve ever been in! Without a concern in the world except where to catch an Uber we all walked shoulder to shoulder in one direction and the suddenly the crowd stopped and circled out for a second then people just started running in the opposite direction we were all walking. We started running. Cat was sprinting away with Marlowe in panic. I tried to keep her in my sight. Marisa was screaming for Bubba. Frank was carrying Addie when we were walking, so I knew he had her. I could lose Cat. Frank and I lost each other. Cat ran upstairs and I fell over someone and people started stepping over and on me. I thought that was how I was going to die. My sister stopped. Cat came back to help me. I lost my flip flop, my phone was gone. My mom lost her purse. We stayed in the steps trying to asess. James went back for the purse. And somehow found my phone. He said there were personal items everywhere. I saw Frank in the distance. He yelled for me to follow him. A second wave of ppl started running away. We started running again. I had to stay with Cat. Frank and I got separated again. My sister family, mom and ran behind a small utility shed. I asked a cowering worker where the nearest exit was. We ran there. My mom bought some shoes and gave them to me. We walked with the crowd again on a barricaded sidewalk. My whole goal was to get my family away from all people. We crossed Lakeshore to a park with some space. Frank and I made contact and met up later down the street. We had to walk for blocks to get away from the crowd. Cat and her cousins were crying uncontrollably. Sirens everywhere. Addie stayed calm but squeezed my hand every time we heard a loud noise. I can’t stop thinking how this will change my girls forever. It was horrible! But seriously what were we thinking going there??? 75k people full capacity on a f-ing pier in Chicago!! I will never be in a large crowd again. We are all traumatized. I know Jesus and my dad took care of us. Someone threw a firecracker in the crowd and yelled gun. 13 trampled and taken to hospital. Three men got in a gang fight and stabbed each other in parking garage. https://www.foxnews.com/us/fourth-of-july-fireworks-chicago-navy-pier-stabbing-shooting-stampede-trampled-shot Comments are closed.
